On August 22, the 2009 LAW China Sub-regional Meeting was held in Qingdao. Wincon Law Firm, host of this meeting, invited with great hospitality a total of ten LAW members and observers from Hong Kong, Taiwan as well as the Mainland. SLP sent three delegates to participate in this meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Zhou Yi from RayYin & Partners PRC Lawyers gave a brief introduction to the recent developments of LAW, and facilitated a discussion around the connection among and development of Chinese members.   Delegates also discussed on certain special topics.  Mr. Jiansheng Xu from SLP presented on the business of commercial lawyers in the US; Ms. Christine M. Koo from Hong Kong talked about the legal issues arising from cross-border marriage; Xianyue Bai and Weifeng Guo from Winners Law Firm respectively introduced the investment environment of the Tianjin Binhai New Area and the development of RMB-denominated investment funds.

After the meeting, participants paid a visit to Wincon Law Firm and had a tour to the coastal scenic spot of Qingdao (“Qian hai yan” ) as well as Qingdao International Beer City.
